Those of you who follow me on instagram will have seen the picture I posted of the two piece skirt
and top I made. Although this isn't going to be a whole post on how to make one yourself, I will tell you how I made it! I've really wanted a two piece since I came across one online, which I loved but, it was £20 and I had no money!
After contemplating making one for about a week, I decided to set a goal to make one in a weekend. I never EVER finish projects I start unless I'm really motivated so, I thought it would be a good idea to give it a go.
I knew the skirt I wanted to make was a circle skirt so, I found various blog posts on how to make one and it was very simple. Silly me messed it up completely and managed to make it for someone triple the size of me. So I had to improvise and attached a zip then saved the bottom of the skirt from a large hole I cut in the back by accident.
The top took about ten minutes, no kidding.
It's a basic box top shape so I folded the material in half and cut it using my measurements and including a seam allowance. Then, I turned it inside out sewed up the sides and hemmed it!
Boat People Vintage do two awesome tutorials on both these things, which I wish I found before I made them!
